Submariner's Monument Dedicated
at Chattanooga National Cemetery
October 13, 2007

VADM R.M. Eytchison was the keynote speaker for the dedication of the submariner's monument in the Circle of Honor at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
The 11 AM ceremony began with a welcome and introduction by CWO4 Jeffrey Lipps, USN with the invocation by Tony De Nicola and followed by posting of the Colors by the Sea Cadets and the Pledge of Allegiance led by Lipps.  The National Anthem was sung by Jessica Page.  Dick Kanning introduced the speaker.
Adm. Eytchison complimented the Haddo Base submariner chapter, especially the efforts of Alan Syler for inspiring the monument, raising the funds and following through.
Unveiling of the monument was by Bill Sylar, Vincent Hogan, Dean Heltz and Charles Levine.  Bagpiper was Wayne Lamb and Toiling of the Boats was by Luther Tinsley, Dick Noble, Dick Canning and Larry Page.  The Sweetwater VFW Post 5156 and DAV Post 93 offered the 21-gun salute.
Taps was played by Truman Tucker and the Sea Cadets retired the Colors.  Tony De Nicola gave the benediction.
