Chattanooga Project Homeless Connect is a one-day event to bring together agencies and the community to provide on-the-spot, one-stop help to people in need. The event will be held on January 28, 2010 (9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.) at the National Guard Armory on Holtzclaw Ave.  The Chattanooga Homeless Coalition and the City of Chattanooga coordinate this day which brings resources to one place to help homeless individuals and families.  It is estimated that 20-25% of homeless are veterans with honorable discharges.  Beth Ratledge, LCSW, Victor Brown, BSW, and Sherry Campbell, BSW, are coordinating outreach services for veterans.  They have invited the Veterans Administration, Veterans Affairs, the DAV and veteran service groups to participate by helping any veterans that might arrive.  Veteran service groups would be helpful in reaching out to veterans.  Donated boots, sleeping bags, tents, gloves, hats, etc, are needed to give out to veterans we meet.  Many community resources will be present to help veterans and non-veterans.

Please contact Sherry Campbell at (423) 892-4289 or (423)718-8331 as soon as possible if your group would like to be a part of this so we can plan tables, set up, or whatever you might need.

Together We Served Administration

Headed by TWS Co-Founder Major Wesley T Prater (USMC Ret), Togetherweserved.com websites are administered entirely by former serving US Marines, Sailors, Airmen and Soldiers including disabled Veterans.

Comments from other TWS Members

"I have thoroughly enjoyed being a member of Together We Served. This site has been a valuable asset to me in finding lost friends and helping to reconnect with others. Your Organization has, and will always be a beacon of light to those who are still defending freedom or have moved on and are looking to share their stories and pictures online. I look forward to many more years on TWS! Thanks again and Semper Fidelis!"
GySgt James Ottens

"It's amazing - I've already had a few former recruits contact me through this site. I'm very thankful that you had the foresight to develop this website so that Marines can stay in contact with one another. We truly are a Band of Brothers."
LtCol George Folta

Basic membership in TogetherWeServed is free.  There is a fee for enhanced membership features.
