Navy League welcomes USS Tennessee

Crew members from the USS Tennessee (SSBN 734) were welcomed to Chattanooga Sunday, June 7th, by the Greater Chattanooga Chapter of the Navy League.  The chapter "adopted" the Ohio-class submarine some five years ago and routinely hosts crew members when they visit Chattanooga.  The USS Tennessee is homeported in Kings Bay, Georgia.  The reception was held at Sticky Fingers Restaurant, downtown.

The USO Dance, the only CAVC fundraiser, will be Saturday, November 14, 6:30 to 9:30 pm at American Legion Post 95.  There will be food, door prizes and a DJ spinning your favorite dance tunes. Dave Townsend, CAVC Vice-Chairman, is the organizer this year.

Dave will distribute tickets at the September quarterly meeting.    Remember this is the CAVC’s only fundraiser, so we need your support.  We are also looking for door prizes.  Please contact Dave if your organization can donate a door prize.
