Veterans Day observed

Veterans Day ceremonies will be held Wednesday, November 11, at 11 AM at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga.  It will be hosted by the Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 942 of Soddy Daisy.

A music interlude by the American Legion Post 95 band will begin at 10:30 AM.

Noah Long, RADM USN retired, will be the keynote speaker.  The observance is sponsored by the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council which is comprised of veteran organizations of the tri-state area.

Introduction of the host organization will be by Ronnie Williams,  chairman of the CAVC.  And Robert Cothran, president of VVA Chapter 942, will give the call to order.

Colors will be posted by the CAVC Honor Guard and Dr. Ken Duggan, pastor of Dallas Bay Baptist Church will give the invocation.

Paul Martin, director of the Chattanooga National Cemetery, will give the welcome, with Williams recognizing the dignitaries.  Colthran will recognize the Gold Star Mothers.

Jim Shull will introduce the speaker, who will be followed by the Choo Choo Chorus singing God Bless America.

Dr. David McNabb will deliver the benediction.  The 21-gun salute will be by the CAVC Honor Guard and taps offered by the Post 95 band.  Hoisting the colors by the National Cemetery staff will close the ceremony.
