2008 Awards and Installation Banquet
Saturday, March 29, at the Trade Center

The 17th annual dinner and installation banquet of the Chattanooga Area Veterans Council will be held Saturday, March 29, beginning at 6 PM in the Chattanooga Trade Center.  Maj. Gen. Ronald S. Chastain, deputy general US Army Forces Command, will be the keynote speaker.

Incoming chairman of the CAVC being installed is Maj. Gen Bill Raines, USA retired.  Chairman elect is Ronnie Williams and Mark Parks is vice chairman.  Bill Norton is outgoing chairman.

The prestigious Charles H. Coolidge award and the distaff member of the year will be awarded.

Welcome will be by Bill Norton, followed by Lester Norton with the invocation.  The Honor Guard from American Legion Post 95 will post the colors.  Pledge of allegiance will be by Ron Williams.

Norton will introduce the head table and special guests, followed by the speaker.  Raines will make presentations of the awards.

Presentation of the Milton Thomas award will be made by Norton.

The slate of officers for 2008 will be: Chairman Bill Raines, Chairman Elect Ronnie Williams, Vice Chairman Mark Parks, Treasurer Dan Lovin and Secretary Kim Ratcliffe.

The CAVC, formed in 1983, serves nearly 50 organizations in the tri-state area and sponsors veterans events.  These include observations at the Chattanooga National Cemetery for Memorial Day and Veterans Day.  The CAVC sponsors the Armed Forces Day Parade.
